Tower of London Remembers

In early August 2014, Paul Cummins (ceramic artist) and Tom Piper (stage designer) started to install an amazing art work as a tribute to our fallen heros in World War I. This evolving installation titled "Blood Swpet Lands and Seas of RED" took form in the Tower of London's famous moat thanks to hundreds of volunteers planting the poppies part of the Tower of London Remembers project.

On Armistice Day (11th November), the last poppy will be planted making a total of 888,246 poppies, each one representing one of the British military fatalities during World War I.

As I live so close to the Tower of London, I have created a photo-study of the poppies. Additionally, on one Sunday morning, I volunteered and planted some of the poppies on the east side of the moat.
