Travel Photography Podcast

30th March 2010

I have been listening to alot of photography podcasts lately – mostly This Week in Photography but I have a number of other series downloaded which I have not yet got to. When I was getting my regular downloads on Monday evening, to my surprise and pleasure I noticed that Steve Davey was featured on the Photography Monthly Masters Podcast on Travel Photography.

Without delay I listened to that particular episode – great interview Steve, very informative and down to earth. Here is the link so you can get the Photography Monthly Masters Podcast on Travel Photography and listen to Steve.

New camera strap

29th March 2010

My new camera strap have arrived from B&H Photo in New York City. It is Blackrapid’s RS DR-1 Double Strap which has been getting great reviews. The main reason for buying this is for the London Marathon at the end of April when I am going to hire a second camera body to save me from changing lenses. Unfortunately, I won’t be able to test it out until the weekend … but the good news is that the weekend starts early on Friday and is four days long – its easter already!

I am really looking forward to out trip to Ladakh with Steve Davey. Having travelled with Steve to Morocco back in October (see my Morocco gallery), I have decided that it was such a great adventure that I want to another opportunity to develop my photography further and to visit another out of the way part of the world.

After talking to my wife, Helen, I have unexpectedly discovered that she is also interested in photography so she is also going to come on this trip to Ladakh.  I think the last time that Helen used an SLR it was back in the hay-day of film so we have bought her a new Digital SLR – Canon EOS 550D which is a great little camera.
